Reviews "Paperboy"

DJ Mag (Money Shot): There’s a pleasant flatness to electro-house but occasionally someone brings the funk in style, and it really blows the roof off. In ‘Paperboy’ Lützy delivers a mix of Prince-esque skippy guitar licks, classic ‘90s house organ and those jazzy electric piano runs that have become cool of late (see also The Youngsters). That’s quite a recipe, and the groove that emerges is certainly one of the tastiest we’ve heard so far this year 6/6

IDJ: My first thought when listening to this is “what the hell?” Its somewhere in between techno, minimal and jazz. Lutzenkirchen pulls it off though as once again it’s great. I truly don’t know where the hell he gets the gonads to make music like this. ‘Mimic’ is also warped to hell and a truly decent minimal track. D-Nox and Beckers provide the only remix of ‘Paperboy’ and turn it into a more club friendly techno romper. 3/5

Released: Lutzenkirchen - Paperboy (Great Stuff)

  • Paperboy (Original)
  • Mimc
  • Paperboy (D-Nox & Beckers Rmx)

Presstext:
Looks like the next big Great Stuff tune. Played by James Holden, Audiojack, 2000 And One, Martin Eyerer, Karotte, Butch, Bart Skils, Brodinski, Peter Kruder. The most productive artist of the munich family is back with his 6. release on Great Stuff. And it’s surprising as ever with its jazzy licks and jumping groove. Next to this outstanding techhouse track its the incredible rework by D-Nox & Beckers with their peak time minimal techno that will guarantee screaming floors all over the world. >Mimic< is Lützenkirchen’s excursion into deep Bavarian afterhour minimalism at its best.

In eigener Sache: "3 Tage Wach" ;)
